Ambassador Girls Scholarship Program

The project Education Development and Democracy Initiative-Ambassador Girls Scholarship Program (EDDI-AGSP) is under RWF's Women and Girls education Program (WAGE). EDDI-AGSP was implemented for three (3) years between 2001 – 2004 with the collaboration of Winrock International and funded by the American Embassy Ambassador to Nigeria. The project was carried out in three schools. --- in Enugu and Umulolo Girls Secondary School and Queen of Apostles Girls Secondary technical School both in Okigwe, Imo states of Nigeria. Thirty three (33) handicap girls benefitted from the project which included mentoring, tutorials, extra curricula activities, home visits, school fees, PTA, scholastic materials, and issuing of pocket money.

Under this project, RWF in collaboration with Winrock International, the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development and the American Embassy organized the first stakeholder workshop towards the sustainability of the project. During this workshop 4 handicapped girls were invited to attend the workshop.
