Partnerships
Rural Women Foundation received a lot of its funding and other resources during the last five years through partnership with various organisations. Since 2012, RWF Nigeria has implemented a series of projects with partners such as the PACT World organisation, the Family Health International (FHI 360), the Wild Goose Foundation in the Netherlands and its sister organisation - Stichting Rural Women Foundation also in the Netherlands. RWF is also currently implementing two HIV/AIDs Fund (HAF) World Bank funded projects
in collaboration with the FCT Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS (FACA in Abuja) and Anambra State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS (ANSACA).
These two projects are focused primarily on the prevention of HIV/AIDS with a special focus on the most at risks population.
RWF Nigeria collaboration with the Wild Goose Foundation and the Stichting Rural Women Foundation is focused on the water and sanitation component of the organisation's projects and is currently being implemented in two states in Nigeria - Anambra and Imo States. This collaboration started since 2013 and till date, seven toilet blocks and solar-powered boreholes have been provided to five primary schools and two health centres.
In 2016, RWF Nigeria in collaboration with the Stichting Rural Women Foundation, the Wild Goose Foundation and other funding partners in the Netherlands plan to provide water and sanitation facilities at two primary schools, two health centres and one community centre in Anambra and Imo State respectively. One of the primary health centre projects is funded with the full support of a restaurant brasserie chain in the Netherlands.
Winrock InternationalIn addition to these partners, RWF has also established partnership and strong linkages with key government agencies relevant to the scope of work of the project such as: State Agency for the Control of AIDS, SACA), Ministry of Education/Local Education Authority, State Ministry of Women Affairs (SMWA), State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Ministry of Health, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Global HIV/AIDS Initiative Nigeria (GHAIN), Family Health International (FHI), Society for Family Health (SFH), USAID-MARKETS. All these partners contributed to the successful implementation of RWF projects in 5 states in Nigeria.
