Partnerships
Rural Women Foundation received a lot of its funding and other resources during the last twelve years through partnership with various organisations based in the Netherlands. This has been made possible through RWF Nigeria's sister organization (The Stichting Rural Women Foundation which was founded in the Netherlands in October 2011). Stichting RWF works with various partners in the Netherlands such as the Wild Geese Foundation, Contribute Foundation, AFAS Foundation and other donors in the Netherlands to raise funds for specific projects in Nigeria.
RWF Nigeria oversees the implementation of each and every project in direct partnership with Stichting RWF and provides all reports, photos and videos as required. In addition to the collaboration with Stichting RWF in the Netherlands, RWF Nigeria is currently implementing an HIV/AIDS prevention project with APIN Public Health Initiatives titled “Accelerated Comprehensive AIDS Response for Epidemic Control and Sustainability” (aCARES) in Plateau state in Nigeria. The goal of this project which started in 2022 was to work with APIN focusing on three local government areas in Plateau State to contribute to the project goal of achieving epidemic control in the state across age and sex bands in different sub-populations.
RWF Nigeria collaboration with the Wild Geese Foundation and the Stichting Rural Women Foundation is focused on the water and sanitation component of the organisation's projects and is currently being implemented in three states in South East Nigeria - Anambra, Enugu and Imo States. The collaboration started since 2013 and till date, more than 30 WASH projects have been implemented at fifteen community primary health care centres and 16 community primary schools in these states.
In addition to these partners, RWF has also established partnership and strong linkages with key government agencies relevant to the scope of work of the project such as: the Ministries of Health and Education in the three states, State Agencies for the Control of AIDS, SACA), Ministry of Education/Local Education Authority, State Ministry of Women Affairs (SMWA), State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).
