HIV/AIDS PreventionIntroduction
HIV/AIDS Prevention
Since 2006, RWF Nigeria has actively implemented numerous HIV/AIDS intervention projects across communities. These initiatives have focused on HIV prevention, voluntary testing and counselling, and comprehensive care and support programs for individuals and families affected by HIV. Through these efforts, RWF Nigeria continues to play a critical role in reducing the spread of HIV/AIDS and improving the quality of life for vulnerable populations.
RWF’s current HIV/AIDS intervention, launched in September 2022, is the “Accelerated Comprehensive AIDS Response for Epidemic Control and Sustainability” (aCARES) project. This five-year initiative, funded by the U.S. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is being implemented in Langtang North and Kanam Local Government Areas of Plateau State. The project is managed by APIN Public Health Initiatives, an international NGO headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria.
